Every year club members and local (and some not so local) residents meet up just below Walton Wrays crematorium gates on Carleton Road, to collect and remove the vast amount of rubbish that washes down the river and collects on the floodplain.
We gather just before 10am on a Sunday morning, to clear an area above and below Carleton Stone Bridge, roughly finishing between 12 and 1pm, (even an hour helps).
The event is open to all, feel free to bring your family or press gang your friends to come along. All you need is decent footware, suitable warm clothing and a good pair of gloves, maybe bring litter pickers if you have them.
Rubbish bags are provided. At the end of the session we leave the collected rubbish securely at the side of the road and the coucil collect it the following morning.
